Channel A is Appalachian State University's student run news program. The show began in the Fall 2012 semester as part of the National Broadcasting Society's activities, and it is the first of its kind at Appalachian. We hope to grow into Appalachian's number one source for campus and community news as we make the transition into the Beasley Broadcasting Complex.

During the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 semesters, NBS students taped Channel A in the television studios of Wey Hall on Friday afternoons. Reporters used Sony Mini DV cameras to shoot their packages for the show both semesters, and editing was done in Final Cut Pro. 



Channel A provides a hands-on learning environment for Appalachian students interested in a career in broadcasting. Because we are entirely student run, students have the opportunity to gain experience in writing, producing, reporting, news production, and more!
